The Windrush Event

The annual Windrush Event takes place in Broxbourne to celebrate the arrival of the HMS Windrush at Tilbury Dock in 1948. Celebrate, preserve, and share the rich legacy of the Windrush generation through art, culture, and community participation to inspire pride, unity, and wellbeing across all generations.

We aim to build stronger, more connected communities where people of every background can express themselves creatively, learn from one another, and celebrate the shared heritage that shapes modern Britain. The Windrush event is inclusive with workshops and storytelling.

The event aims to honour the past, empower the present, and create a lasting legacy for the future, one that uplifts voices, strengthens cultural identity, and promotes belonging, resilience, and joy.

• 100% of fees are non-refundable two weeks before the event.
